During a disaster, saving lives often depends on how well communities have planned and built partnerships in advance. That's why national emergency planners are holding a free training session on how best to assist communities of color, people with disabilities and other special needs groups – if a disaster hits.
The meeting "Emergency Planning for Special Needs Communities," will be held Nov. 4, 2010 at Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital in Newport, Oregon. Everyone involved in emergency management or response – is invited to attend. Participants must register and complete at least two free FEMA online courses from this list: IS-100, IS 230, IS-700, IS-800. To register call Dean Sawyer: 541-444-8298 or Mailto:[email protected]
