TUMWATER, Wash. (AP) -- The minimum wage in Washington remains at $8.55 an hour in 2010.
This is the first year it hasn't gone up since a 1998 initiative tied it to inflation.
Inflation, as measured by the Consumer Price Index, fell last year in the state. But Washington's minimum wage will not drop.
Washington still has the highest state minimum wage in the nation.
The federal minimum wage is $7.25.
